Blinn won 3-0, beating Trinity Valley 25-17, 25-15, 25-22 at the Kruse Center in Brenham. The Bucs, ranked No. 3 in the nation, are 16-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play. They haven’t dropped a game since Sept. 2, sweeping each of their last 10 matches.
Head coach Terry Gamble said his team performed well defensively.
“I’m really proud of the girls tonight,” Gamble said. “I thought we played great defense. We played a really good team and this was a really good win for us tonight.”
Trinity Valley fell out of the top 20 this week but was among the schools receiving votes in the national poll.
Gamble said Guilia Hortelan and Lixai Velez demonstrated great ball control in the match. Hortelan, Velez, and Kyndal Coufal led Blinn with seven digs each. Hortelan added nine kills.
Jayde Shelton again led Blinn with 13 kills in 30 attempts, hitting at a .333 clip. Chard’e Van Zandt and Reagan Casey each had nine kills for the Bucs. Casey had four block assists to lead that category for Blinn.
