The Blinn College women’s soccer team earned an 11-0 home win over Ronin Soccer Club on Sunday at Rankin Field inside Hohlt Park in Brenham, Texas.
The shutout improved the Buccaneers to 3-1 overall.
“It was a very good day offensively and defensively,” Blinn head coach Alexandria Jackson said. “We look to continue our success against conference foe Navarro next week, which will be a competitive game to say the least.”
Seven different Bucs scored goals during the victory, as Blinn’s season total climbed to 32.

Sophomores Brianna Hoffman (midfielder) and Emeyda Cruz (forward), as well as freshman forwards MaKayla Police and Alexandra Walker tallied two scores apiece. Sophomore defender Emma Orozco, freshman midfielder Brianna Ortego, and freshman forward Haley Piatak also scored for the Bucs.
Freshman midfielder Eleanor Sargeant tallied five assists on the day and now leads all NJCAA Division I players with eight on the year. Police is tied for third nationally with five goals, while is in an 11-way tie for sixth with four.
Blinn put the pressure on early when Cruz scored in the ninth minute on a give from freshman forward Marissa Aparicio. Police found the net when freshman midfielder Annika Murdoch fed her in the 11th minute. Hoffman then scored consecutively in the 12th and 32nd minutes with the help of Sargeant and Orozco, respectively. Walker buried a feed from Sargeant in the 44th minute to send the Bucs into halftime with a 5-0 cushion.

Walker (64th minute), Cruz (68th), Orozco (79th), Police (81st), and Piatak (86th) capped the offense in the second half.
Freshman keeper Madison Ortiz made one save in goal for Blinn.
The Bucs outshot Ronin SC 14-0 with a 21-1 advantage in shots on goal and a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.
Blinn visits Navarro College for its first Region XIV tilt of the season at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept 1., in Corsicana, Texas.
