HOUSTON, Texas — The Blinn College baseball team managed eight hits off of No. 3 San Jacinto College-North, but fell to the Gators, 12-3, in seven innings, to open a four-game conference series Tuesday.
With the loss, the Buccaneers now hold a 14-13 overall record and 9-10 conference record.

San Jacinto took off with an early 6-0 lead in the first inning. However, Blinn landed on the board in the third inning after Kelton and Schields each hit one-run singles to cut the Gators’ lead.
San Jacinto scored two runs in the third inning, but the Buccaneers immediately fought back for one run when Hoffart led off the fourth inning with a solo home run.
The Gators scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to extend their lead to 12-3.
The Buccaneers kept San Jacinto off the board for the next two innings, but couldn’t rally back from the early deficit.
Next, the Buccaneers will return home to continue the conference series against San Jacinto on Thursday, April 15, at 6 p.m. at Leroy Dreyer Field.
