June 1st, the Bellville Police Department (PD) and Austin County Sheriff’s Office (SO) arrested Travis Gilliam. Gilliam was apprehended during the late evening hours for multiple outstanding warrants issued from Brazoria County. These warrants include charges of Assault Family Violence, Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury, Retaliation, and Terroristic Threat. Additionally, Gilliam faces charges for two counts of Burglary of a Building related to recent incidents in Bellville.
The burglary charges stem from break-ins at Brookshire Brothers Pharmacy and the Texaco Food Court in Bellville during the early morning hours of May 31st. According to a previous announcement from local authorities on May 30th, the suspect, later identified as Gilliam, entered the Texaco Food Court at 1216 S Front St and Brookshire Brothers Pharmacy at 720 S Front St. During these burglaries, Gilliam took two packs of cigarettes from the Texaco and a box of donuts from Brookshire Brothers.
The Bellville Police Department had earlier sought public assistance to identify the suspect, releasing the following statement: “Anyone know this guy? He broke into the Texaco and into Brookshire Brothers in Bellville during the early morning hours of May 31st. He took two packs of cigarettes from Texaco and a box of donuts from Brookshire Brothers. That’s all. Please call our agency at 979-865-3122 if you know who he is. Thanks in advance.”
Gilliam has been booked into the Austin County Jail, where he awaits further legal proceedings.
