The Bellville Brahma girls softball team saw their season come to an end on May 6th, as they suffered a tough loss to the Boerne Greyhounds in the area division of the 2023 UIL Texas Softball State Championships. The final score was 14-4 in favor of Boerne, and despite a valiant effort by the Brahmas, they were unable to come out on top.

The Brahmas had a solid season, finishing with an overall record of 20-14 and a district record of 7-5. They showed determination and grit throughout the season, and were able to make it to the area round of the playoffs. It was a successful campaign for the Brahmas, who have a lot to be proud of.

One of the standout performers for Bellville this season was Avery Burnett. She led the team in batting average with an impressive .459, and also had an on-base percentage of .564. Burnett was a consistent performer throughout the season and was a key contributor to the team’s success.

Kacie Dudensing was another player who had a strong season for the Brahmas. She led the team in slugging percentage with a mark of .730, and also had a win-loss percentage of .615. Dudensing was a reliable performer for the team both on the mound and at the plate.

Defensively, Kennedy Savell stood out for the Brahmas with a fielding percentage of .966. Savell was a rock at the back, making key plays and keeping the team in games.

Despite the loss to the Greyhounds, the Brahmas can hold their heads high knowing that they gave it their all throughout the season. The team showed great character and determination, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. The Brahmas will look to build on this season’s success and come back even stronger next year.
