The Austin County Commissioners Court voted to rescind the burn ban that has been in effect in our community. This eagerly awaited development comes as welcome news for residents and businesses across Austin County, Texas.
The decision to lift the burn ban was made during the Commissioners Court session held this morning. The burn ban, which was implemented due to concerns over dry conditions and fire hazards, has been in place for quite some time with the severe drought our areas has been experiencing with record high temperatures.
While we await the official order detailing the decision we urge everyone to burn with caution as the possiblity of a runaway fire still exist with lots of dead material being prevalent after our droght.
