On Friday, October 20, 2023, the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office sought help from the Westside Narcotics Task Force in an ongoing investigation at a residence in Glidden, Texas. At approximately 3:20 PM, deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Brazos Street in Glidden. Upon arrival, deputies discovered evidence of drug-related activities, including drug paraphernalia.
In response to the Sheriff’s Office’s request, a Task Force Investigator arrived to aid in the investigation. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed at the residence, leading to the seizure of methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, firearms, and a significant amount of U.S. currency. Additionally, packaging materials and scales were found at the location, suggesting involvement in narcotics distribution.
Jesse Lee Cloninger, the resident of the property, was apprehended at the scene and faces multiple charges, including two counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1, Delivery of Marijuana, and possession of a prohibited weapon. Cloninger has been taken into custody and booked into the Colorado County Jail, with assistance from the Columbus Police Department.
The Westside Narcotics Task Force, consisting of investigators from various law enforcement agencies across four counties, played a pivotal role in this operation. The participating agencies include the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville PD, Sealy PD, Hempstead PD, Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, and DEA. Furthermore, the Colorado County Attorney’s Office provided valuable assistance throughout the investigation.
