Judge just sent an update. There are now 14 cases, 9 recovered, 5 active, 0 deaths. The 13th case resides in the Kenney area and is a health care worker. The 14th case, a male in his 50s, resides in the Sealy area and is travel related. Bellville Medical Center has tested 201 people with 8 positive results. Look for the antibody test to be available at the hospital soon. A second drive thru test is scheduled for Friday, May 8th, please watch for further details online as they become available.
Governor Abbott just had a news conference: Funerals may now be conducted under the same rules as religious services. Wedding receptions will be conducted under the same rules as restaurants. Water outings on rivers will be conducted under the same rules as parks and beaches. Outdoor seating at restaurants must be limited to 6 persons in a party and 6’ distancing between tables. Barber shops and salons may re-open on May 8 with social distancing. Gyms and exercise facilities may re-open on May 18 with special hygiene rules. Non-essential manufacturing may re-open on May 18.
