The Faith Academy Knights took the field on Friday, October 7th to battle the Faith Academy Cougars of Victoria. The game opened with the Knights kicking off to the Cougars. The Knights defense gave up a quick TD to the Cougars, then settled down. Will Woods forced a fumble that Jacob Henderson recovered. At the end of the first quarter the Knights trailed 6-0. With only 7 players making up the team, the Knights kept fighting. Unfortunately the Cougars scored 3 quick TD’s taking the score to 25-0. The Knights scored just before half as Henderson found Woods on a 9 yd TD pass. The PAT was unsuccessful making the halftime score 25-6. As the third quarter started the Knights found themselves in another fight; they were going to have to finish the game with six players. After losing Jeff Perry, Woods, Crawford, Schiller, Newcomb, Henderson and Robards, played their best. At the 2:04 of the 3rd quarter, the Cougars returned an interception to make the score 51-6. The game was called at this time, applying the 45 mercy rule. The Knights play their next game on Oct. 21 in Huntsville against Alpha Omega.
