Description
Join Valmont in Brenham maintaining electrical and electromechanical systems that support manufacturing operations, with placement at Technician I, II or III based on your qualifications. The standard day shift is Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–3 p.m., with additional hours required as needed.
What you'll do
- Diagnose and repair industrial electrical faults using meters, testing equipment, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Install and service motors, controls and electrical components, including systems up to 480V, according to qualifications and level.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems as needed.
- Follow lockout/tagout and established electrical safety procedures while maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment.
- Document repairs and communicate equipment problems and safety concerns to support reliable plant operations.
What you'll bring
- Technician I: High school diploma or GED and at least one year of industrial equipment maintenance experience.
- Technician I: Electrical diagnostic equipment experience, basic schematic reading, and foundational electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
- Technician II: Generally two to three years of relevant industrial maintenance experience; technical school or apprenticeship training preferred.
- Technician II: Strong electrical diagnostics, schematic interpretation and 480V installation experience; ability to repair equipment with limited instruction.
- Technician III: Advanced independent electrical troubleshooting, PLC and controls knowledge, and 480V experience; Electromechanical or Electrical Technology degree preferred.
- Work safely independently and with a team in an industrial environment; availability for overtime based on business needs.
- Stand and walk throughout the shift, lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and frequently work in awkward or confined positions.
- Distinguish colors, read technical materials, and use adequate hearing and hand-eye coordination to diagnose equipment problems safely.
