Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant – Mid Coast Medical Center – Bellville

Join Mid Coast Medical Center in Bellville as a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant. Working under a Physical Therapist’s supervision, you’ll provide hospital or outpatient treatments that restore function and help prevent disability following disease or injury.

What you'll do

• Provide direct physical therapy interventions following individualized treatment plans and priorities established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintain safety awareness for patients and staff while using therapy equipment and resources appropriately.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and staff members throughout the course of treatment.
• Follow professional, ethical and accreditation standards while working within the Physical Therapist’s supervisory process.
• Support professional physical therapy practice and contribute to the delivery of cost-effective health care.

What you'll bring

• Hold an Associate of Arts degree and complete an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Maintain a current Texas license granted by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners.
• Hold current CPR certification, a valid Texas driver’s license, current auto liability insurance and reliable transportation.
• Read, speak and write English; apply rehabilitation principles and perform treatments in hospital, outpatient, school or aquatic settings.
• Manage prolonged standing and walking, frequent patient lifting and transfers, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds at or above shoulder level.
• Be able to drive 30-plus miles daily and repeatedly enter and exit a car; travel to other facilities may be needed.
• Use universal precautions for infectious-disease exposure and be prepared to work with combative patients.
