The Austin County Livestock Association will hold its 76th Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Cat Spring Agricultural Hall in Cat Spring, bringing together local ranchers, agricultural producers, and community members for an afternoon and evening focused on agriculture education, livestock issues, and industry updates.
The event, hosted in partnership with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, will include a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) program offering three hours of TDA CEU credits for pesticide applicators and agricultural professionals.
Topics for the CEU program will include pesticide laws and regulations, a New World screwworm update, and modern herbicide application methods ranging from IPT systems to drone technology.
According to organizers, the CEU program will offer one General credit, one Integrated Pest Management (IPM) credit, and one Laws & Regulations (L&R) credit.
Registration for the CEU portion of the event will take place from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by the educational program from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $30 per person and includes Austin County Livestock Association membership dues.
The evening annual meeting will begin with registration from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A catered meal by Schovajsa Catering Inc. will follow before the business meeting, guest speaker presentation, and door prizes.
This year’s featured guest speaker will be Wes Mason, sales representative with Purina, who will discuss cattle market trends and livestock nutrition.
Beyond hosting educational programs, the Austin County Livestock Association continues to support agriculture throughout the county by awarding scholarships to local students pursuing agricultural degrees and supporting agricultural-related activities year-round.
Membership dues for 2026 are $30 per person and include one meal at the annual meeting as well as coverage of a $500 reward for the recovery of stolen livestock.
