9 y/o Struck By Train In Bellville

The Bellville Police Department reported on their social media page that at approximately 7:00 AM this morning, a 9 year old boy was standing near the train tracks in Bellville and was struck by a train. Prior to the incident, the engineer observed the juvenile and began to activate the brakes. The train was not at full speed and was traveling slow. The juvenile received a head wound when he possibly leaned into one of the train’s cars which subsequently struck the juvenile on the side of head. The juvenile sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Bellville Medical Center for treatment. BNSF, and the Bellville Police Department, are investigating the incident. There is no further information at this time.
