On November 28th, twenty Austin County 4-Hers participated in the 2017 Austin County 4-H Food Show and Food Challenge Contest. The objective of both contests are to provide 4-H members an opportunity for additional learning experiences. Most importantly, we want to recognize them for their achievements in the 4-H Food and Nutrition Program. Their participation in the contest allows them the opportunity to practice recommended food preparation skills, food safety and public speaking. In addition, it provides for educational and personal development.

The 2017 District 11 4-H Food Show and Food Challenge Competition will be held on Saturday, January 6th in Victoria, TX. The top three youth in each food group will advance to District Food Show. The top two Junior/Intermediate teams will advance to the District Food Challenge competition. Congratulations to all of the members!
