The Industry Economic Development Corporation (EDC) recently purchased new wind screens and bleachers for the courts, improvements that help make the space more comfortable and enjoyable for both players and spectators.

The wind screens will significantly improve playing conditions by reducing crosswinds that can affect the flight of the ball. By limiting wind interference, players are able to maintain better control and enjoy a more consistent game. The screens also help reduce glare and block outside visual distractions, allowing players to stay focused during play.

The addition of bleachers provides a comfortable place for friends, family, and spectators to sit and watch the action, making the courts an even more inviting gathering spot within the park.

The pickleball courts are located at West End Community Park, 725 Main Street in Industry, Texas, where visitors can also enjoy the surrounding park and outdoor space.

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Invented in 1965, the game has grown rapidly in popularity in recent years. Today, nearly 20 million Americans play pickleball, making it one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States.

City officials say they are pleased to continue adding improvements that enhance the park and provide additional recreational opportunities for the community.
