The Mill Creek Watershed Partnership is pleased to announce Josh Helcel, Feral Hog Specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be providing a Feral Hog presentation at the upcoming quarterly meeting. This public stakeholder meeting will be held Tuesday evening, September 12, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Bleiblerville Volunteer Fire Department Hall, refreshments will be provided.
“I am very excited that Mr. Helcel is available to come to our upcoming meeting,” says Jennifer Cary, Mill Creek Watershed Coordinator and Program Specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. “Feral hogs are a big issue in the area and are suspected to be one of the potential causes of bacteria impairment in the watershed.”
The public is invited to attend, we will learn about feral hog management and its impact on water quality. During the meeting, we will also provide updates on current implementation efforts within the Mill Creek Watershed, including water quality testing. The Watershed Coordinator, Jennifer Cary, District Technician, Taylor Marburger, and a representative from the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) will be there to answer questions about implementation efforts through the Watershed Protection Plan (WPP).
