Three Blinn College football players have earned 2021 all-conference honors from the Southwest Junior College Football Conference.

Freshman wide receiver Chase Davidson (Houston), sophomore offensive lineman Juan Quezada (Austin), and redshirt freshman punter Nickalos Falsone (San Antonio) each were named second-team all-conference.

“I am really proud of these guys because they really put together a good year in a really strange year based on COVID-19,” head coach Ryan Mahon said. “It is a testament to how hard they work and their perseverance. They are amazing kids who represent Blinn College.”

Davidson led the Buccaneers with 27 receptions for 351 total yards in seven games, and tied for first on the team with three touchdown catches. He also led Blinn in kickoff return yards with 161 on seven attempts. In addition, he rushed for 27 yards on four carries.

“Chase was untested coming into the season and he really stepped up and embraced his role,” Mahon said. “He became a full-time starter and really played a good brand of football all year long.”

Quezada has anchored the offensive line in the last two years at Blinn. He started all seven games for the Buccaneers this season. In 2019, Quezada picked up second-team all-conference honors after playing five games as a freshman. Prior to Blinn, he earned all-state honors at Austin High School.

“Juan was an all-c0nference performer last year, so he maintained his expectation and improved himself,” Mahon said. “He was a team leader and I expected that from Juan.”

Falsone led the Buccaneers with 38.7 yards per punt and tied for first with 503 total yards on 13 punts. His longest punt was for 59 yards and he punted inside the 20 twice against Cisco College on April 3. In two years at Blinn, Falsone totaled 554 yards on 14 punts.

“Nickalos came out and really performed well all year long,” Mahon said. “He was really steady in that position for us and something we could count on.”

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
