Bellville volleyball coach Susan Brewer has reached 1,306 career victories, adding another remarkable milestone to a career that has helped make the Brahmanettes one of the most recognized high school volleyball programs in Texas.
Susan Brewer didn’t simply build a winning volleyball program in Bellville. She built Bellville volleyball.
Coach Brewer came to Bellville High School in 1977 to start the school’s girls volleyball program. What began as a new program grew under her leadership into a Texas volleyball powerhouse with state championships, repeated trips to the state tournament and a winning tradition that continues today.
With 1,306 career wins and counting. She now stands among the winningest high school volleyball coaches in the United States.
Susan Brewer Built Bellville Volleyball
When Coach Brewer arrived at Bellville High School, she was tasked with starting the girls volleyball program. She has since guided the Brahmanettes to nine UIL state championships and 19 state tournament appearances through the 2024 season.
Those accomplishments have helped make Bellville volleyball a source of pride throughout the community.
Coach Brewer’s role at Bellville High School also extends beyond volleyball. Bellville ISD lists her as the school’s Women’s Coordinator and Head Volleyball and Tennis Coach.
Coach Brewer Reaches 1,306 Career Volleyball Wins
Coach Brewer entered the 2026 volleyball season with 1,296 career victories. She has since added 10 more wins, bringing her career total to 1,306. The milestone adds to a coaching résumé that has earned her recognition across Texas and nationally.
Former Port Neches-Groves coach Barbara Comeaux is credited with 1,285 career victories in national high school volleyball record listings. Coach Brewer’s current total of 1,306 moves her beyond that mark…and she isn’t finished.
Each Bellville victory during the 2026 season continues to add to her career total.
Susan Brewer Earns National Coaching Honors
Coach Brewer’s success with Bellville volleyball has earned recognition from some of the sport’s leading organizations.
In 2022, she was inducted into the American Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. The AVCA recognized her accomplishments at Bellville and her contributions to high school volleyball.
Coach Brewer received another major honor in April 2026 when the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor inducted her into its Sports Hall of Honor.
At the time of her UMHB induction, Coach Brewer had 1,296 career wins and was recognized as the winningest active high school volleyball coach in Texas.
Her total now stands at 1,306.
Where Coach Brewer Ranks Among the Nation’s Winningest Volleyball Coaches
Coach Brewer’s career victory total places her among an elite group of high school volleyball coaches nationwide. The U.S. high school career record belongs to former Bedford High School coach Jodi Manore of Michigan, who finished with 2,287 career victories following the 2023 season.
Coach Brewer entered the 2026 season already among the national leaders in career victories. With 1,306 wins and the season continuing, her total can continue to climb.
For a program that began in Bellville in 1977, reaching that level of national recognition is an extraordinary achievement.
A Bellville Volleyball Legacy Bigger Than the Numbers
Wins and championships provide one way to measure Susan Brewer’s success, but they tell only part of the story. Players have come through the Bellville volleyball program learning the expectations and traditions Coach Brewer established. Those players have helped carry that standard from one Brahmanette team to the next. The result is a program known throughout Texas for winning, preparation and consistency.
Nine state championships. Nineteen state tournament appearances. Hall of Fame honors. And 1,306 career victories and counting.
Each accomplishment adds another chapter to Susan Brewer’s remarkable coaching career.
But in Bellville, her impact can be summed up much more simply: Susan Brewer didn’t just build a winning program. She built Bellville volleyball.
