Holiday lights, community spirit and a full weekend of festivities will take center stage as Sealy hosts its 39th Annual Fantasy of Lights celebration December 4–6. This year’s theme, “A Wishful Christmas,” honors three local children whose Make-A-Wish journeys have inspired the community with their strength, courage and joy. The trio will serve as Grand Marshals for the beloved parade on Saturday evening.
The multi-day celebration, organized by Discover Sealy, will feature long-time traditions along with new attractions designed to bring families together for a memorable holiday weekend.
Thursday Events
Festivities begin Thursday, Dec. 4, with the start of the Annual Gingerbread Decorating Contest at the Virgil & Josephine Gordon Memorial Library. Entries will be accepted through Dec. 6, with judging set for Saturday at 11:30 a.m. The contest is open to all ages, from Pre-K through adult, and entries must be fully edible and mounted on sturdy bases.
Also on Thursday, the 13th Annual Holiday Vendor Blender will take place at the Sealy American Legion.
Friday Events
On Friday, Dec. 5, the Sealy Historical Park will host “Vintage Fantasy,” an evening event running from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, sleigh rides, tea, shopping, holiday décor, and appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Saturday Schedule
Saturday brings a full lineup of activities for families.
Breakfast with Santa, hosted by the Sealy Lions Club, will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church.
From noon to 6 p.m., children can enjoy Kids Fantasy at Levine Park, featuring live music, a snow hill, bounce houses, a rock-climbing wall, crafts, food trucks and vendor booths.
At 4 p.m., the Main Street Stage at Levine Park will host the 2025 Fantasy of Lights Pet Show Competition. Participants must register by Dec. 4. Pets will compete in four categories — Coolest Trick, Obedience, Cutest and Most Festive — with winners named in each category as well as an overall champion.
The community will gather for Sealy’s Official Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:45 p.m., leading into the highlight of the weekend: the 39th Annual Fantasy of Lights Parade at 6 p.m. The parade, a cherished tradition for nearly four decades, will illuminate Main Street with festive floats, holiday performances and this year’s Make-A-Wish Grand Marshals.
Registration Information
Parade registration, vendor registration and sign-ups for the Jingle Bell Fun Run are now open and free to the public, with the Fun Run benefitting the W.E. Hill Community Center. All registration forms can be found at DiscoverSealy.com/Sealy-Fantasy-of-Lights.
Wishing Well Tradition
This year also features the Wishing Well and Wishing Trees inside the Sealy Historical Park. For a $1 donation, visitors may write down a wish and place it in the well or hang it on the tree. Proceeds support the Fantasy of Lights program. The project is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Austin County.
As Sealy counts down to one of its most anticipated holiday traditions, organizers say they are eager to welcome residents and visitors for a weekend filled with joy, community and holiday magic.
