Sealy High School students have made their mark at this year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) art show, earning prestigious awards for their outstanding artwork.

Megan Ondruch, a 10th-grade student, clinched the highly esteemed Best in Show award for her piece titled “Curiosity.” This accolade signifies that Megan’s artwork was recognized as the top entry among all submissions. Winning Best in Show is a significant achievement, highlighting Megan’s exceptional talent and skill.

Jayden Ashley, an 11th-grade student, received a Gold Medal for their artwork titled “We the People.” This award indicates that Jayden’s piece demonstrated outstanding artistic merit and creativity, distinguishing it as one of the best entries in the competition.

Laura Hodges, a 12th-grade student, also earned a Gold Medal for her artwork titled “Goat Kisses.” Like Jayden, Laura’s artwork stood out for its excellence and artistic prowess.

Winning awards at the HLSR art show not only brings recognition but also opens up opportunities for the students. The Best in Show award could lead to significant exposure in the art world, potentially attracting attention from galleries, collectors, and other artists. Additionally, Jayden and Laura’s Gold Medals signify their talent and dedication, which could pave the way for future artistic endeavors, scholarships, or even career opportunities in the arts.
