Austin County Emergency Services District No. 2 (ESD No. 2) stopped at First United Methodist Church Day Care in Sealy, Texas, as part of Fire Prevention Month. This event is just one of many educational visits conducted by the fire department throughout the month, aimed at providing children with firsthand knowledge of the important work firefighters do to keep the community safe.

During the visit, children were allowed to get up close and personal with the firefighting equipment and explore the fire truck.  The children were also given the chance to operate a kid-sized fire hose, a hands-on experience that not only entertained the youngsters but also imparted a valuable lesson in the importance of water as a firefighting tool.

Fire Prevention Month holds great significance as it emphasizes the importance of fire safety in our daily lives. These educational initiatives not only educate children but also serve as a reminder for adults to review and practice fire safety measures in their homes and workplaces.
