The Sealy FFA recently competed at the Bluebonnet District Convention, with several members winning awards and taking on important leadership positions. For those who may be unfamiliar with the Bluebonnet District Convention, it is an event organized by the Texas FFA that brings together FFA members from different chapters in the region to compete in various events and elect officers.

One of the most notable achievements from Sealy FFA was Ryleigh Gilfoil’s 1st place win in the Extemporaneous Speaking category. This award recognizes her ability to speak on a given topic without prior preparation and highlights her exceptional communication skills. Dylan Matthews also won 1st place in the Talent category, showcasing his artistic talents and abilities.

Alana Lindsay’s 2nd place win in the Senior Prepared Public Speaking category recognizes her excellent public speaking skills, while Brooke Baber’s 3rd place finish in the Junior Prepared Public Speaking category highlights her potential as a future leader and public speaker.

In addition to the awards won by Sealy FFA members, several students also took on important leadership positions at the convention. Grayson Oliver was elected as the Area XI Officer Representative, a significant honor that recognizes his leadership skills and dedication to the FFA. Kenna Schram retired as the Bluebonnet District Officer, a position she has held with great distinction. Finally, Ansley Owen, Jackson Burttschell, and Kenzie Simmons served as voting delegates, representing Sealy FFA and contributing to the democratic process of the convention.
