The Greater Sealy Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet was a celebration of community, marked by the vibrant colors of Mardi Gras—green, purple, and gold. Among the evening’s highlights was the recognition of the Sealy Christian Pantry as the recipient of the 2024 Peggy Spradley Award, an esteemed honor celebrating outstanding dedication and service to Sealy.

Presented during the banquet, the award pays tribute to Peggy Spradley’s legacy of hard work and commitment—first through the American Legion and later with the Chamber of Commerce. It recognizes individuals and organizations that embody her unwavering spirit of service. The Sealy Christian Pantry expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and the tremendous support it has received from local foundations, businesses, individuals, and fellow nonprofits. That generosity played a crucial role in the completion of its new facility, which officially opened its doors to the public in February 2025. More than just a building, the Sealy Christian Pantry is a vital part of the community, offering hope and assistance to those facing food insecurity. Its new location at 412 Old San Felipe Road in Sealy, TX, marks an important milestone in its mission to serve those in need.

The Peggy Spradley Award, presented by the Sealy Chamber of Commerce, honors individuals and organizations that exemplify professionalism, achievement, and community support. It commemorates the late Peggy Spradley, a dedicated leader in Austin County known for her tireless work with the Sealy Chamber of Commerce and the Sealy American Legion Post 442. Her legacy continues to inspire service, excellence, and a commitment to making a difference.
