No. 6 Buccaneers Rout Rezolution Prep Academy, 84-12

Brenham, Texas — No. 6 Blinn College football (4-0, 2-0) used an explosive offense to defeat Rezolution Prep Academy, 84-12, in a non-conference match-up on Saturday night at Cub Stadium.

“We wanted our guys to get a lot of reps to see our depth and we accomplished that tonight,” said Ryan Mahon, Blinn head coach. “We showed how explosive we could be which is a really good thing moving forward.”

It was the largest margin of victory for the Buccaneers this year as Blinn opens the season 4-0.

Blinn’s three quarterbacks played phenomenal in the pocket. Daveon Boyd completed 10-of-11 passes for 290 yards and five touchdowns. Brock Landis completed 4-of-5 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing in two touchdowns. Brett Bridges compiled 20 yards and threw for one touchdown.

Danny Gray led the receivers with 136 yards on three catches, all for touchdowns, while Corey Smith followed with 119 yards on five catches for one touchdown.

“It was a great experience to go out there and do what I love to do,” Gray said. “Our offense can run it on the ground and throw it over the top which is a big part of why we are so successful.”
