BRENHAM, Texas — The Buccaneers snapped a two-game losing streak by using an explosive offense to defeat Victoria College, 103-77, in a non-conference game before the winter break in the Kruse Center.

“We came out and did an excellent job in the first half to jump on them early and really did a good job with our offense and moving the ball,” said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach. “It’s always great to end the first semester with the win.”

Blinn’s overall record increases to 8-3 following the win.

Antione Lister and Markques Houston led the Blinn offense with 17 points each. Gianni Ford followed with 10 points, while Dante Williams and Bradley George each chipped in eight points in the win.

The Buccaneers jumped on Victoria early to grab a 58-27 lead in the first half. In the second half, Blinn continued to dominate by scoring 35 points leading to a 103-77 win.

Blinn returns from the winter break on Jan. 2 to take on the Houston Gladiators at 7 p.m. in the Kruse Center. Earlier in the season, the Buccaneers defeated the Houston Gladiators, 86-73.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 36 NJCAA national championships since 1987. For more information, visit www.buccaneersports.com.
