Assistant Plant Manager/Superintendent

FLSA Status: Exempt

Acme Brick Company (a Berkshire Hathaway Company) is an organization of professionals in the manufacturing and building material distribution industry. We manufacture brick and distribute our own brick as well as brick and associated products manufactured by others. We operate in 13 states with a philosophy that we are much more than a brick manufacturer and distributor.

Summary

We are seeking a "best in class" Assistant Plant Manager/Superintendent to supervise and coordinates activities of associates in operating machinery to manufacture parts or products. Oversees the daily production of a plant or department. The ideal candidate has a natural ability to roll with the punches, being flexible to handle anything that might come their way. You'll be a strong and reliable support to company operations, maintaining procedures, communication and customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) This is a safety sensitive position.
• Manage and supervisor department/plant technical operations and resources
• Direct associates in adjusting machines and equipment to meet production schedules
• Analyzes and resolves work related problems or assist associates in solving work related problems
• Plans flow of materials throughout plant according to production schedules
• Interacts with other in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met
• Ensures department and workplace safety in accordance with all Federal, State, Local and Acme Brick Company rules, policies and procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Manages subordinate associates. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of a specific Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Experience/Education
• Bachelors Degree preferred.
