Position Summary:

The Trim Carpenter is responsible for installing high-quality finish carpentry and architectural woodwork in custom homes. This position works closely with the Lead Trim Carpenter, Project Managers, and other field personnel to complete projects with precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate takes pride in producing exceptional work, maintains a clean and safe job site, and contributes to a positive, team-oriented work environment.

ESSENTIAL Duties and Responsibilities

Finish Carpentry

· Install interior doors, exterior doors, door hardware, and window trim

· Install baseboards, crown molding, casing, chair rail, wainscoting, paneling, and decorative trim

· Install custom cabinetry, built-ins, shelving, fireplace mantels, ceiling beams, and other architectural features

· Measure, cut, fit, and assemble finish materials with precision

· Install stair components, handrails, balusters, and trim as required

· Perform detailed finish work to meet company quality standards

· Complete punch-list items before homeowner orientations and project completion

Project Support

· Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

· Verify measurements before installation

· Assist with unloading, organizing, and staging trim materials

· Coordinate with Project Managers and subcontractors to maintain project schedules

· Identify and communicate potential installation issues before they impact project timelines

· Assist with warranty and service work as assigned

Shop & Material Support

· Assist with fabrication and assembly of custom trim packages and millwork in the carpentry shop

· Maintain organization of trim materials, hardware, and supplies

· Help load company vehicles with materials and tools for daily projects

· Maintain tools and equipment in clean, safe working condition

· Report damaged or missing tools and equipment

Safety & Housekeeping

· Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites

· Protect finished surfaces and homeowner property during installation

· Follow company regulations and safety policies

· Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE)

· Safely operate power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and company equipment

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 2+ years of residential finish carpentry experience

· Experience installing trim, doors, molding, cabinetry, and finish materials

· Ability to read tape measures, construction drawings, and specifications

· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship

Preferred

· Experience in custom home construction

· Knowledge of woodworking equipment and shop tools

· Experience installing custom millwork and built-ins

· Basic knowledge of residential construction practices beyond finish carpentry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Strong finish carpentry skills and woodworking knowledge

· Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and finish carpentry equipment

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

· Strong work ethic and positive attitude

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Ability to adapt to changing project priorities

· Commitment to producing high-quality workmanship

Physical Requirements

· Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds

· Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and reach for extended periods

· Climb ladders and scaffolding safely

· Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

· Operate power tools and construction equipment safely

· Perform repetitive cutting, measuring, lifting, and installation tasks

Pay: Depends on qualifications and experience
