The Blinn College men’s basketball team added another tally to its win column Saturday with an 86-72 Region XIV road victory over Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, Texas.

The Buccaneers jumped to 22-7 overall and 13-5 in region play.

“I thought we played a really good game today,” Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher said. “It was a difficult game with it being the last road game of the season, but our guys have been putting in a lot of work and brought a lot of energy to get the win today.”

Stellar performances from sophomore guard Masiah Gilyard and freshman wing Anthony Isaac helped propel the Bucs. Gilyard finished with 26 points and 15 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season, and also added eight assists. Anthony poured in 23 points to go with six boards and four assists. Sophomore guards Jadin Johnson and Nick Folk finished with 10 and nine points, respectively. Johnson also dished out four assists.

The Bucs led 46-36 at halftime.

Blinn concludes its regular season with a home tilt against Lamar State College-Port Arthur at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas. The Buccaneers will celebrate Sophomore Day prior to tip-off.
