The Sealy City Council completed the second reading of the resolution for funding the frontage road project at Tuesday’s meeting.  The resolution reads:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEALY, TEXAS, APPROVING AS A PROJECT OF THE SEALY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO EXPEND FUNDS ($314,244.22) FOR THE IH 10 FRONTAGE ROAD PROJECT IN ORDER TO PROMOTE AND DEVELOP NEW OR EXPANDED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE AND RELATED EXPENDITURES THEREFOR.

The first reading was done the day before at a very quick city council meeting.  Kim Meloneck gave an overview of the Sealy Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and their role in funding the project.  She went on to give a breakdown of the funding of the frontage road project and where it would come from.  The next step will be a public hearing to be held this Tuesday at the SEDC Meeting.  Once that’s done, if there’s no objection then sixty days after the publication of the hearing, which was published yesterday, they will be authorized to submit the money from the SEDC to the City of Sealy.  The video below contains that part of the Sealy City Council meeting involving the frontage road.
