The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is launching its annual Fall Soil Testing Campaign for Austin and Colorado Counties, running from November 3โ€“21, 2025. The campaign offers discounted soil testing services designed to help livestock, forage, and row crop producers make informed decisions about fertilization and soil management to boost production and efficiency.

Proper soil testing is one of the most cost-effective ways to enhance forage and hay quality. By determining the specific nutrient needs of the soil, producers can apply the correct type and amount of fertilizer at the right timeโ€”an investment that often results in stronger crop yields, improved hay growth, and healthier pastureland.

This yearโ€™s campaign is sponsored by the Beef & Forage Committees of Austin and Colorado Counties, who encourage all landowners and producers to participate.

Local producers are encouraged to take advantage of this annual opportunity to prepare for the 2026 growing season with a clearer understanding of their soilโ€™s needs.
