6pm – update
On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 1:32 PM, a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper initiated a pursuit that concluded in the area of Lazy River and Bartlett Road. The Austin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene along with multiple law enforcement agencies.
ACSO deployed its K9 Unit, Special Response Team, and Drone Unit to assist in the search. Despite efforts, the suspect has not been located. The Department of Public Safety will continue the investigation.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are currently active in the Lazy River area following a vehicle pursuit that ended with the suspect fleeing on foot. Authorities are searching for the individual, described as a heavyset Hispanic male with a beard.
Additional details and suspect descriptors will be shared as they are confirmed. Residents are urged to remain alert and avoid the area if possible.
