2021 was a boom year for robot sales: more robots joined the American workforce last year than ever before. And 2022 promises to beat those numbers by a solid margin, as early indications suggest the jobs market saw another COVID-driven contraction during January.

For the first time ever, total US debt surpassed $30 trillion, and rising exponentially because at this point there is no way on earth this number will ever be contained, let alone drop contrary to the naïve dreams of clueless politicians.

Bacon lovers might be in for a sizzling surprise as pork supplies in cold storage tumble to an 11-year low as prices rise due to declining hog herds.  What this means is breakfast is becoming a lot more expensive for Americans as some of the highest inflation in four decades has wiped out their real wage gains. 

There hasn’t been a lot of good news on the economy lately but, the most alarming datapoint is that real wages are plummeting. Average hourly earnings have risen 4.7 percent in 2021, but inflation is 6.8 percent, sending real wages to negative territory and the worst reading since 2011.
