Here are the election results for Austin County for the 2020 Election. 

This morning a suspicious package was found chained to the Justice of the Peace Pct 4 door in Wallis, TX on Birch St. Fearing an incendiary device the HPD Bomb Squad was contacted. The Austin County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation into the matter.

Austin County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a local man Tuesday afternoon after a two day manhunt in Austin and Colorado Counties.

There are three candidates running for the position of Constable for precinct 3 here in Austin County:  Tobey Baggerly, Ronnie Griffin, and Robert Campbell.  You can view their interviews in our candidate forum in this article.

Judge Lapham announced in todays Commissioners Court meeting that Austin County’s COVID-19 numbers have fallen to a level that the governor’s mask mandate will no longer apply.  The exemption happens when the county COVID-19 numbers fall below 20 or less new cases in the last 14 days.
