The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Association is inviting the community to mark their calendars for its Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, April 11, at the Levine Park Pavilion, 406 Main Street in Sealy.

The sale begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m. or until plants sell out. Early arrival is encouraged for the best selection.

Shoppers can expect a wide variety of plants, including roses, โ€œTexas Superstarโ€ plants, Texas native selections, Earth-Kind varieties, succulents, butterfly-friendly plants, ground covers, herbs, bushes, fruit and citrus trees, blueberries, blackberries, and a few surprises. Rain barrels, planters, and other garden-related items will also be available.

One of the highlights of the sale is that all plants are locally sourced and acclimated to this area. Choosing plants suited for the local climate is key to gardening success in Southeast Texas. Plants adapted to the region are better prepared to handle intense summer heat, shifting rainfall patterns, and local soil conditions. They generally require less water, fewer chemical treatments, and less maintenance overall โ€” saving homeowners time and money while increasing the chances of long-term success.

Experienced Master Gardeners will be on hand throughout the event to help shoppers select the right plants and provide guidance on proper care. Whether you are starting your first flower bed or adding to an established landscape, their expertise can help ensure your garden thrives.

Proceeds from the plant sale support programs in Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington counties. Funds help provide scholarships for graduating high school seniors, maintain community gardens, and offer free โ€œLunch & Learnโ€ programs and other educational activities throughout the year.

For more information, residents may contact the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office in Austin County at 979-865-2072.

With spring underway, the annual plant sale offers the perfect opportunity to refresh your landscape, invest in plants that are proven to grow well locally, and support programs that benefit the entire community.
