In Rocket League action, the Buccaneers improved to 4-0 in NJCAA Esports action with a 3-0 win over Northeastern Technical College in a best-of-five series.

Andrew AskinsVince Purcell, and Braden Nardecchia earned the victory for Blinn.

“Today’s match was an expected win because we had plenty of scouting information going into this matchup and we were exceedingly well prepared,” Blinn assistant coach Kyle Murto said. “Each game was a dominant performance from our entire team.”

Blinn Rocket League will continue its campaign with a tilt against Coastal Bend College at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 13.

The Buccaneer Call of Duty team fell 3-1 to Tallahassee Community College in an NJCAA Esports bout.

“I think we as a team have a lot to work on, but our success can only go up from here,” Blinn assistant coach Ryan Lucich said. “As a coach, I’m proud of the work and progress the team continues to make in its inaugural season. We have a really tough remaining schedule for both NJCAAE and NACE, but I know our players will put their best foot forward and we’ll see what happens.”

Competing for Blinn were Jaiden Walker, David RodriguezJake Marsh, and Landon Campos.

The Bucs will play their next Call of Duty match when they take on Independence Community College at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
