The Bellville Brahmas put on a show Friday night, defeating rival Sealy in a dramatic 35-28 overtime victory. Fueled by stellar rushing and defensive efforts, the Brahmas secured a hard-fought win, improving their season and cementing their status as a force to be reckoned with.

The game started slowly, with Sealy scoring first on a passing touchdown from Kane Killough to Romeo Castillo. However, Bellville responded swiftly with a rushing touchdown, tying the game 7-7 by the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Bellvilleโ€™s defense stepped up with two key interceptions, pushing the Brahmas to a 14-7 lead. Another interception by senior Nic Carlile halted Sealyโ€™s drive deep in Bellville territory, sending the Brahmas into halftime with momentum on their side.

 

 

Offensive Standouts
Bellvilleโ€™s rushing attack led the way, amassing 222 yards on 45 carries. Senior Dd Murray powered through with 115 rushing yards and a touchdown, while junior Izak Hranicky added two more scores on the ground. Murray also showcased his receiving skills, hauling in two catches for 61 yards, including a touchdown reception. Quarterback Ryan Broz threw for 61 yards, completing a crucial touchdown pass during overtime to seal the victory.

Bellville’s defense recorded three interceptionsโ€”two by Nic Carlile and one by sophomore Don Gillumโ€”stifling Sealyโ€™s offense when it mattered most.
