Bellville ISD is gearing up to unveil a newly renovated BHS Softball Field & Complex just in time for the 2025 spring season. After suffering significant damage from hail and windstorms in the spring of 2024, the field has undergone extensive improvements, marking a fresh start for the Bellville Brahmanettes. Prior to the storm, the field faced persistent drainage issues, making it difficult to maintain playing conditions. The district responded by investing in a comprehensive renovation project to enhance the field’s functionality and appearance. The improvements aim to provide athletes and spectators with a top-quality softball experience.
Completed renovations include:
-
Complete reconfiguration of the field to resolve drainage problems
-
Installation of new outfield grass and infield dirt conditioning
-
Practice field reconfiguration with new backstop and fencing
-
New bleachers for enhanced spectator comfort
-
Brick backstop and protective netting behind home plate
-
New fencing and foul poles
-
Upgraded light poles with energy-efficient LED lighting
-
Full renovation of the concession stand and restrooms, including interior and exterior updates
-
New roof, windows, and doors for the press box
While much has been accomplished, additional upgrades are on the horizon. The district is set to install a new scoreboard donated by Austin County State Bank, windscreens and backstop padding, and a state-of-the-art sound system for the press box.
The Bellville Brahmanettes will debut their newly upgraded field during the first home game of the season on March 18, 2025, with games set to begin at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
Bellville ISD officials express their excitement about the renovations, emphasizing their commitment to providing quality athletic facilities for student-athletes and the community. For more information and updates, visit the Bellville ISD website or follow them on social media.
