For many families, making ends meet has become a little more complicated lately. Groceries, utilities, housing and other everyday expenses can put pressure on a budget, while unexpected costs can make it harder to save or pay down debt. In times like these, having clear, practical information can help people understand their options and make money decisions with greater confidence.
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Austin County will offer Mastering Your Money for a Brighter Future, a two-session program designed to help participants build confidence with everyday financial decisions. The sessions will be held Nov. 10 and 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Austin County Extension Office, 1 East Main St. in Bellville.
The program will explore ways to create a budget that works for an individual or household, make the most of available income, grow savings and pay down debt. Participants can also learn more about credit scores, credit utilization and FICO scores, including how these factors fit into the larger picture of personal finances.
The sessions will provide easy-to-understand, research-based information and strategies participants can begin using right away. The goal is to help people feel better equipped to sort through financial choices, avoid common pitfalls and build money management habits that can benefit them and their families over time.
No one needs to have everything figured out before attending. People at every age and in every financial situation can learn something useful, whether they are just starting to manage their own money, supporting a household, working toward a savings goal or looking for a fresh start. Learning more about money management can be a helpful first step toward financial security no matter where someone is on their financial journey.
