The Austin County Job Fair & Career Expo is set to take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the American Legion Hall, 1630 Meyer Street in Sealy. Hosted in partnership with the Sealy, Bellville, and Wallis Chambers of Commerce, Sealy Economic Development Corporation, American Legion Post 442, and Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast, the event will bring together local employers and job seekers under one roof.
The Role of the Job Fair
Job fairs and career expos play a vital role in strengthening communities. For job seekers, these events offer a unique opportunity to meet directly with employers, ask questions, and make personal connections that can’t always be captured through an online application. Attendees can learn about current openings, discover new career paths, and get a sense of the skills and qualifications employers in the area are looking for.
For employers, participation is just as valuable. Local businesses gain access to a pool of motivated candidates who are eager to work close to home. Job fairs allow employers to put a face to the resumes they receive, assess candidates’ professionalism and enthusiasm in person, and promote their workplace culture. In today’s competitive labor market, this kind of direct interaction can help businesses stand out and fill openings faster.
A Community Effort
The Austin County Job Fair & Career Expo is designed to serve both sides of the workforce equation. By connecting workers with employers, the event supports the local economy, reduces commuting challenges, and helps businesses find talent that is committed to staying in the community. Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast, a proud partner of the American Job Center Network, is helping to make sure resources are available for both job seekers and employers, including assistance for individuals with disabilities and language support services.
