Abbot Calls Special Election For Position Vacated By Rep. Leighton Schubert

Governor Greg Abbot has ordered a special election to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Leighton Schubert from Texas House District 13 representative position.  Schubert resigned from his position as representative officially on February 4, 2018 leaving the position vacant.  Though the impact to the area has not been as substantial as it would have been if the State of Texas was in session it still has left a void in the day to day of the position.  The election for the position will take place on May 5, 2018.  There are currently 6 individuals running for the position, 5 Republicans and 1 Democrat.  They are:

For the Republicans: 

• Ben Leman
• Daniel McCarthy 
• David Stall 
• Jill Wolfskill 
• Marc Young

And, for the Democrat ticket:

• Cecil R. Webster Sr.
