To be eligible, student-athletes must post a 3.0 or better grade point average (GPA) and pass a minimum of 12 college-level credit hours.
Thirty-six student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average: baseball players Callum Burton, Arturo Hernandez, and Ryan Jackson; men’s basketball players Jan Njock and Alex Tsynkevich; women’s basketball player Allana Thompson; cheerleaders Angel Rodriguez and Micaela Valdez-Lowery; dancer Izmeth Montelongo; esports players Alyssa Bowman and Aanooalii Filoialii; football players Hayes Gibson and Ben Osueke; men’s golfers Tyler Dawson, Cole Killian, Cole McClellan, and Sam Sewell; women’s golfer Madeline Goad; men’s soccer players Joseph Boyce, Joshua Farrell, and Brook Williams; women’s soccer players Jordan Bell, Angel Chase, Madison Kanelos, and Morgan Zachos; softball players Keely Castillo, Acie Prince, Natilee Reed, Emily Springer, Chandler Talbot, and Kayla Wallace; and volleyball players Fiona Arnold, Alyssa Pauler, Lixai Perez, Savannah Sebek, and Emily Smajstrla.
The volleyball team led all Blinn athletic programs with a 3.6 GPA, while the softball and women’s golf teams followed with GPAs of 3.51 and 3.45, respectively. Football had the most honor roll students with 18, followed by baseball with 15.
“I am extremely honored to have these amazing student athletes in our Blinn College athletic programs, and I’m tremendously proud of their efforts to excel in the classroom,” Blinn Athletic Director Scott Schumacher said. “I am also impressed by the continued emphasis our Blinn athletic staff puts on the importance of academics.”
The honor roll is named after former Blinn Athletic Director Don Wilhelm, an NJCAA Hall of Famer who served the College for 10 years.
