Description
Join Sealy ISD’s substitute teacher pool to support students at assigned campuses when regular employees are absent. Assignments are as needed, with substitutes expected to fulfill daily responsibilities an average of five times per month.
What you'll do
- Implement provided lesson plans using instructional strategies, materials, and technology suited to students’ learning needs.
- Supervise students, manage behavior under school policies, and maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment.
- Submit attendance reports, leave end-of-day teaching notes, and report accidents or incidents.
- Work cooperatively with teachers to modify curriculum for students as needed or noted in lesson plans.
- Participate in substitute training and follow district safety protocols, emergency procedures, and applicable regulations.
What you'll bring
- High school diploma/GED, some college hours, or associate degree; experience managing student groups and providing instruction, or related work experience.
- Knowledge of the assigned academic subject, curriculum, and instruction; ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- Prolonged standing, frequent walking and physical movement; regular lifting under 15 pounds; may move textbooks and classroom equipment.
- Ability to work prolonged or irregular hours, with regular noise exposure and possible outdoor work.
Pay: $80 per day with high school diploma; $90 per day with associate degree; $100 per day with bachelor's degree; $110 per day for certified teachers.
