Description
Join Sealy ISD’s substitute school nurse pool to provide temporary, as-needed health services on assigned campuses. You’ll support student health and safety through nursing care, preventive practices, and health education.
What you'll do
- Provide direct student care using nursing assessments, individualized healthcare plans, and established school health protocols.
- Communicate with families, coordinate referrals and follow-up, and secure emergency medical care for students as needed.
- Administer medications according to district procedures and implement mandatory student health screening programs.
- Provide health education to students and staff, and collaborate on services for students with identified health needs.
- Maintain confidential student health records, coordinate clinic supplies, and supervise assigned health aides and delegated tasks.
What you'll bring
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program with a valid Texas Board of Nursing RN or LVN license.
- Current AED and CPR certificates and one year of nursing experience.
- Knowledge of health appraisal and basic first aid; ability to implement policies and procedures.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in keyboarding, file maintenance, and routine report writing.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and light lifting; may require regular lifting of 45 pounds or more.
- Ability to position students with physical disabilities, assist non-ambulatory students, and control behavior through physical restraint.
- Maintain emotional control under stress and work with frequent interruptions and exposure to biological hazards and communicable diseases.
