Cattle producers, ranchers, agricultural professionals, and students can now register for the 72nd annual Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course taking place Aug. 3-5 in Bryan-College Station.
Hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Department of Animal Science, the Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course is considered one of the largest and longest-running beef cattle educational events in the world.
The annual event attracts nearly 2,000 attendees each year and offers extensive educational opportunities focused on beef cattle production, ranch management, cattle health, market trends, and emerging agricultural issues.
This yearโs Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course will feature presentations and discussions covering cattle market trends, herd rebuilding, weather outlooks, the New World screwworm, pasture mealy bugs, and updates regarding the U.S. farm bill.
Participants attending Cattlemanโs College will have access to more than 50 hours of educational programming focused on beef cattle management and ranching practices. The event includes more than 20 concurrent sessions along with live-animal demonstrations and chute-side training opportunities.
Attendees can also explore over 150 agricultural exhibitors and vendors showcasing products, services, equipment, and technologies related to the cattle industry.
Both in-person and virtual attendance options are available for the 2026 Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course. In-person registration costs $300, while virtual registration for Aug. 3-4 is available for $99. Organizers noted that registrations completed after July 28 will include a $40 late fee.
A Youth Track program is also available for high school students interested in hands-on beef cattle production and agricultural careers. Youth registration is $150.
Additional events connected to the short course include a Ranch Horse Program scheduled for Aug. 2 at the Thomas G. Hildebrand, DVM โ56 Equine Complex. Separate registration for the ranch horse program is available for $125.
Veterinary continuing education programs will also be offered Aug. 1-6 with up to 32 hours of continuing education credits available for veterinary professionals.
