Governor Greg Abbott has announced the launch of the 2025 Hiring Red, White & You! statewide hiring fair, a major employment initiative connecting Texas veterans, service members, and military spouses with job opportunities across the state. The annual event, now in its thirteenth year, will take place from November 4–20, featuring more than 30 in-person and virtual hiring events hosted by regional Workforce Solutions offices. Organized by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) in collaboration with Texas Workforce Solutions, the Texas Veterans Commission, and the Texas Medical Center, this statewide effort is designed to match veterans and their families with employers seeking mission-driven, skilled workers. Each year, the event draws participation from major industries including healthcare, technology, energy, manufacturing, public service, and more.

Since its inception in 2012, Hiring Red, White & You! job fair has made a measurable difference in the Texas labor market. To date, it has brought together more than 26,000 employers and 153,000 job seekers, including over 52,500 veterans. The initiative has directly resulted in more than 4,300 same-day hires, demonstrating its effectiveness in helping veterans transition into meaningful civilian employment.

Employers are encouraged to participate at no cost by contacting their local Workforce Solutions Office. Businesses that hire veterans may also qualify for the federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit, which can provide up to $9,600 in business income or payroll tax savings. Additionally, companies employing a workforce made up of at least 10% veterans can earn special recognition through TWC’s WeHireVets initiative—a program that spotlights employers demonstrating a strong commitment to Texas’ military community. Texas is home to more than 1.7 million veterans and active-duty service members, whose leadership, discipline, and technical expertise continue to strengthen the state’s economy. Events like Hiring Red, White & You! job fair help ensure that these talented individuals find opportunities to thrive while helping Texas businesses grow.
