At last nights Sealy, Texas City Council meeting, City Attorney Tim Kirwin highlighted the impacts of the 2023 Texas legislative session on cities, with over 8,000 bills filed and 230 directly affecting municipalities. Among the significant changes are new rules for third-party inspections, changes to annexation authority, a new Public Information Act request, the prohibition of TikTok on government devices, and the imposition of unfunded mandates.
