A 39-year-old man was released from Harris County Jail after posting a $75,000 bond following his arrest for unlawfully carrying a weapon onto Zwink Elementary School campus.
Kyle Najm Chris, also known as Muhi Mohanad Najm, entered the school on March 10, 2026, through a front door that had not fully latched after a parent exited, according to court documents and Klein ISD statements. He was wearing tactical-style clothing and a load-bearing vest and was armed with a holstered handgun and a taser. He walked to the front office, asked staff about armed security on campus, and left the building without entering hallways or classrooms. The schoolโs secure vestibule system prevented further access. No students or staff were injured.
Chris, who lives near the school, was arrested the following day at his home by Klein ISD police. He faces a third-degree felony charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon in a prohibited place under Texas Penal Code ยง46.03. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2022.
Harris County District Court Judge Lori Chambers Gray set bond at $75,000. Chris posted the bond and was released in mid-March 2026. Upon release, he is under 24-hour house arrest with a GPS ankle monitor and is prohibited from approaching or entering any Klein ISD property. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 2026.

He shouldn’t have a bond! We aren’t concerned enough. We aren’t speaking up enough.
