A café in Dubai is now serving what it claims to be the world’s most expensive coffee — a single cup priced at nearly $1,000. Julith Café, located in one of the city’s trendy industrial districts, is offering the exclusive brew made from Nido 7 Geisha beans grown in Panama’s volcanic region near Baru.

The café’s founders, who purchased the beans during a high-stakes auction in Panama for approximately $600,000, said they paid a record-breaking price for the rare coffee. Only 20 kilograms were secured, and Julith plans to serve around 400 cups, reserving a small portion for Dubai’s ruling family.
Each cup costs 3,600 dirhams (about $980 USD) and promises a complex flavor profile of jasmine, citrus, apricot, and peach notes. Julith’s co-founder, Serkan Sagsoz, describes it as smooth, sweet, and honey-like in texture.

Dubai, already known for setting global luxury records, previously held the Guinness World Record for the most expensive coffee at 2,500 dirhams a cup ($681 USD). The new offering easily surpasses that benchmark, reinforcing the city’s reputation for extravagant experiences.

The launch comes amid a worldwide rise in coffee prices. In the U.S., roasted coffee costs have surged nearly 19% in the past year, reaching an average of $9.14 per pound — more than double the 2019 price. Weather disruptions in major coffee-growing nations, tariffs on imports, and supply chain uncertainty have all contributed to the spike.
Despite the high price tag, Julith Café’s ultra-premium coffee has attracted attention from collectors, enthusiasts, and international buyers — though the café says its rare beans won’t be sold or shared beyond its limited servings.
