Wildland Fire Preparedness Level: 3

Recent Fire Response:
On Friday, Texas A&M Forest Service responded to 13 new wildfires, burning a total of 27,717 acres statewide. Firefighters are working diligently to contain these fires and minimize damage.

Burn Bans in Effect:
Currently, 130 Texas counties have active burn bans. Austin County is NOT under a burn ban at this time.

Wildfire Smoke & Air Quality
There is a noticeable haze over some areas, which may be due to active and recently contained wildfires across Texas. Below is the latest information on these fires. You can also view this information on the interactive map. 

Active Wildfires in Texas

  • Cottonwood Creek Fire (San Saba County) – 633.2 acres, 95% contained
  • Rest Area Fire (Gray County) – 4,500 acres, 35% contained
  • Windmill Fire (Roberts County) – 23,000 acres, 50% contained
  • Anderson 1226 Fire (Anderson County) – 20 acres, 95% contained
  • Conco Hill Fire (Cass County) – 57 acres, 90% contained
  • Cass 1230 Fire (Cass County) – 2 acres, 90% contained
  • Saddle Fire (Bandera County) – 17 acres, 80% contained
  • Red Rock Creek Fire (Llano County) – 48 acres, 85% contained

  • 583 Sand Fire (Brown County) – 6 acres
  • Midway Fire (Wichita County) – 20 acres
  • Bowie 1219 Fire (Bowie County) – 38 acres

  • Antelope Creek Fire (San Saba County) – 2 acres
