On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, an individual was arrested by the Wallis Police Department after allegedly causing a disturbance and resisting arrest at the Brazos Little League field in Wallis while childrenโs games were underway.
According to the Wallis Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Brazos Little League field following reports of an intoxicated person yelling and hurling profanity at adults in front of children and families attending the games. Authorities stated the intoxicated individual did not appear to have a child participating in the event.
Officials said officers attempted to detain the individual upon arrival, but the subject allegedly refused to comply. Assistance was requested from the Austin County Sheriffโs Office, and a responding deputy reportedly was struck multiple times while attempting to help take the individual into custody.
During the altercation, officers deployed a Taser before successfully arresting the subject. A Taser is commonly used in situations involving active resistance or combative behavior.
The individual was taken to the Wallis Police Department and booked on the following charges:
-Assault on a Peace Officer โ 2nd Degree Felony
Punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison and fines up to $10,000.
-Possession of a Controlled Substance โ State Jail Felony
Punishable by 180 days to 2 years in a state jail facility and fines up to $10,000.
-Terroristic Threat โ Class A Misdemeanor
Punishable by up to 1 year in county jail and fines up to $4,000.
-Evading Arrest โ Class A Misdemeanor
Punishable by up to 1 year in county jail and fines up to $4,000.
The Wallis Police Department thanked the Austin County Sheriffโs Office for its assistance and noted the importance of cooperation among local law enforcement agencies as Austin County continues to grow.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
